T-Shirt Refashion

My sister went to see the Thunderbirds and all I got is a thousand t-shirts!

It's the best fitting shirt I ever had so I lifted the pattern minus the deep neckline and used it as the base for the new one. It bunches up a bit under the arm, I'll have to think about that when I refashion another shirt with that pattern, but I am quite happy with it.

How I did I know that, besides the school's name in bright yellow velvety stuff, that it was a French T? Look here, it had darts, on a t-shirt! Only in France!

Carlotta Stermaria is the proud winner of the giveaway and the T was sent to her today. We are all awaiting pictures!

Le T-Shirt Remasterisé

Ma soeur est allé voir les Thunderbirds (la Patrouille de France US) et j'ai reçu mille t-shirts.

C'est un t-shirt qui me va super bien alors j'ai tracé un patron basé dessus en modifiant un peu le décolleté. Ça fait des petits plis en dessous des bras, je corrigerai ça quand j'utiliserai ce patron la prochaine fois. Je suis assez contente du résultat.

Comment savoir, à part le nom de l'école imprimé en velours majuscule sur le devant qu'il s'agit d'un t-shirt français? Il avait des pinces, je n'ai jamais vu ça ailleurs qu'en France! 

J'ai envoyé le t-shirt gagnant à Carlotta Stermaria, on attend les photos avec impatience.

On ne peut qu'adorer une liste des fournitures qui contient un kit de réparation de soutien-gorge!
Dès que j'ai vu ce patron, sur Sewaholic, j'ai voulu faire cette robe, il me fallait le patron, il est arrivé. J'ai une  petite question pour vous, avez-vous déjà cousu dans une housse de couette Ikea?

J'ai acheté ce tissu pour la faire, en solde chez Ikea €1.50m, mais, j'ai aussi acheté une housse de couette et je me demande si ça ne serait pas un meilleur choix?

Pendant que vous réfléchissez, ça va vous amuser de savoir que j'y ai aussi acheté des ciseaux de couture! J'ai fait la réflection à la gentille dame du rayon, pendant que je coupais mon tissu, que ses ciseaux coupaient très bien et elle m'a dit : "Vous pouvez en acheter!" Ce qui fut fait. Un total de €12.98 pour les 2 paires, ils ont un bon poids et ils coupent! Quand je pense que j'ai acheté des ciseaux à cranter qui n'ont jamais rien coupé à un prix de fou! Voici une très bonne solution pour les couturières débutantes.

Mes fans FB savent que je cherchait partout des pinces à ourlet et elles sont arrivées. Ça a l'air de grosses pinces à cheveux, mais pour le tissu. Elles vont me servir quand je vais travailler le cuir un peu plus tard cette année.

You have to love a pattern that asks for a bra repair kit in the notions!

I saw that pattern on Sewaholic and I had to have it and make it! Now Tasia and I can have a muumuu sewalong! I have a question for you : have any of you ever sewn an Ikea duvet cover? 

I was at Ikea's the other day and picked this fabric (€1.50m) to make the dress and I am having second thoughts as I also bought a duvet cover on sale and I think it would be such a better choice of fabric.

While pondering that question, you might be entertained by the fact that when in Ikea, you have to cut your own fabric and I was saying to the young lady there that their scissors cut really well and she said you can buy some. So I did! They cost a grand total of €12.98 for the pair. They have a nice weight and the pinking shears really work (I bought some really expensive ones that were frustrating to work with). Consider this a solution for you beginners out there.

My FB fans also know I wanted hem turners and they came in the mail this week. I found them here. They are like hairpins for fabric and I think they'll come in handy when I start working with leather.
