Madras Pour l'Été Prochain

Je fais mes cadeaux de Noël et ma famille lit ce blog alors je vais vous parler d'autre chose pendant un petit moment, je ne voudrais pas qu'ils voient ce qu'ils vont recevoir. Après, je vais faire ma petite robe Chloe dont je vous ai parlé en juillet.

Mr CarmencitaB est revenu de Guadeloupe avec 4 mètres de Madras la semaine dernière et je me vois déjà en robe-chemise cet été. Peut-être dans une version modifiée du Vogue 8353 que j'ai trouvé en vente lors de ma recherche de drap de laine rouge. J'ai toujours aimé ce patron, il est intemporel. Je ne sais pas trop si ça va fonctionner, mais c'est quelque chose dont je vais me soucier ce printemps.

Madras Coming Up

I am making gifts right now, so I'll entertain you with other topics for a little while, I don't want my family to know what I am making them. Then, I'll start on the Chloe I told you about in July.

Mr CarmencitaB came back from Guadeloupe last week with 4 meters of Madras, and I am thinking summer shirtdress, maybe in a modified version of Vogue 8353 I bought on sale while I was looking for red melton for my coat. I've always liked this pattern, it's timeless. I don't know if I can make it work, but it's something I'll worry about in the spring. 

Are you people crafting for Christmas too?

Elegance à La Maison

Je pourrais porter ça toute la journée, c'est doux et c'est chaud!
Le Butterick 9214 a été facile et rapide à faire et maintenant, je suis absolument certaine que ça ferait un beau manteau si je trouve le drap de laine parfait (à un prix raisonnable)... je cherche, je cherche...je trouverai.

La couleur de l'étoffe est moins bonne sur ce cliché. Voici les changements que j'aimerais y faire : mettre les poches dans la couture du côté, je ne froncerai pas la taille, je ferai plutôt une jupe évasée, je crois que ça va moins m'alourdir, il faut aussi que je travaille les manches pour laisser de la place à un pull mais je crois vraiment que ça va être exceptionnel, j'ai hâte!
Et attendant, je fais mon ménage au chaud avec style!

Elegant Home Wear

I could wear this all day! It's really warm and cosy. 

Butterick 9214 was easy to put together and I am so sure this would make an exceptional coat, if I find the right fabric for it... I have been scouring the usual fabric stores around here and can't find anything at a reasonable price, but I will...eventually.

The color is a bit off on this shot, but here are the changes I plan to make : hide the pockets in the side seams, I won't gather at the waist but go for a flared skirt instead, it'll be more flattering, I have to change the armscye a bit to allow a sweater but I really think this is a winner. I can't wait.
In the meantime, I'll be cleaning up in style!
